The role

This fast-growing, global diagnostics company is hiring for a key strategic role within their thriving Product Development team. As Team Lead, youll take responsibility for the smooth operation of all automation process activities on a global scale, providing leadership and guidance to the wider automation team.

Leading several projects from liquid and sample handling automation to integrated robotic systems, you’ll collaborate with internal teams to confirm solutions are aligned with customer needs.

Joining their Oxford-based team, you’ll have remote working flexibility once initial training is complete, with occasional domestic and international travel required.

A sample of some key deliverables include:

  • Ensuring that new equipment and automated laboratory processes are delivered, applied and validated effectively
  • Implementing efficient automated immunoassay workflows that are in line with the Quality Management System and company goals
  • Guiding the installation, validation and maintenance of instrumentation platforms and training Technical support and Sales teams in automated platforms
  • Developing test methods to validate new system performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Shaping an efficient, cohesive team and supporting the development of junior team members

 

The person

Youll have 6+ years of lab experience under your belt, including at least 2 years in automation and instrumentation. Familiarity with project types such as liquid handling automation, tube labelling and scanning, sample handling automation and integrated robotic systems would be a bonus.

As an experienced team leader, youll confidently deliver on complex interdepartmental projects and demonstrate strong organizational management.

You’ll also have:

  • A good academic background (degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or similar)
  • An aptitude for problem solving and analytical thinking
  • Key decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • The ability to work autonomously, demonstrate initiative and work in a collaborative, global environment
